Exploring Islands Of Paxos Alone In Three Days!!

Going on a holiday with family and friends is the best way to spend some quality with them. But my idea is different, I prefer to go alone on a holiday and explore new places. The Paxos Island in Greece is one such place that will offer you a perfect combination of a peaceful environment merged with natural beauty. Geographically Paxis is one of the smallest islands in Greece, surrounded by olive groves and a few small islands. Exploring Paxos Island is not a time-consuming or daunting task, due to its small size. The main source of transportation between these islands is ferries, but using a car hire Paxos offers you the freedom to move across the island at your pace.

Well, coming back to my holiday, I was on a three-day trip to this island during the weekend and this is how I enjoyed my time.

Day 1: Visiting Gaios and Southern Beaches: I started my trip in Gaios, the main port town. The colourful buildings, small shops, and small cafes to relax and enjoy the taste of Greek snacks helped refresh my mood.  As a cup of coffee is enough to boost my energy, I grabbed a local coffee and went to explore the island. After visiting Agios Nikolaos Beach, I headed to Mogonisi Beach in my hired car.  There wasn’t much crowd on the island, I relaxed on the beach and turned back to my lounge. On the way back, I stopped at Kaki Lagada for a quick swim. Paxos may be small, but having a car helped me fit in more than I expected.

Day 2: Village Hopping—Loggos and Lakka: On the second day of my holiday, I planned to visit the northern region of the island. I woke up early morning and I drove up to Loggos, also known as the fishing village on the island. I sat by the sea, had breakfast, and interacted with natives who gave me some great tips on quiet beaches.

The next destination I visited on the second day of my trip was Lakka, surrounded by olive trees, which was perfect for a peaceful swim and snorkelling. I explored Monodendri Beach too in my rented car. Finally, I ended my by having dinner in one of the local tavernas.

Day 3: Inland Routes and Hidden Corners

On the third and last day of my holiday, I decided to visit the destinations with fewer crowds, and therefore I went to Ozias beach. It was the place where I felt like time had slowed down. The roads were scenic, with olive groves on both sides and barely any traffic. One of my favourite stops was the Tripitos Arch—standing there alone, with the sea crashing below, was a surreal moment. Before leaving, I returned to Gaios for a bit of shopping and one last stroll through town.

Conclusion: Exploring the Paxos Island was quite amazing. With the rented car I had the freedom to go wherever I wanted, whenever I wanted—something that’s priceless when travelling alone. If you love to visit tranquil places, and clear waters and love solo travelling Paxos won’t disappoint.
